If you are already staying in a place that claims the “Wanderhimmel” for itself, a search is worthwhile for the next business trip. This is where appealing culinary delights are connected with charming local cuisine, best with accommodation. The “Rundblick” seems to unite all the requirements: it operates as Hotel Garni, bakery and cafe, attracts not only with legendary Brezeln (which already praised Horst Lichter but with a great viewpoint and a beautiful viewpoint. You have to fight hard. Countless steep steps lead from Baiersbronn Station to the altitude of the “Rundblick”. If you don't have glatteis, you can also walk the steeper local road. Motorized guests will find plenty of parking next to the house – even those who arrive without a car can perhaps still land at an old-timer (so later more). We bake often since 1840, the ownerfamlie Klumpp, 7 days a week! The company has been able to expand steadily since its foundation. In the meantime, the team comprises around 50 employees, as the wonderfully uncomplicated, red- and splendorable junior boss Petra Klumpp informs us. We don't know the other locations, but the Hotel Garni Cafe Rundblick is quite picturesque on a hill above Baiersbronn, has been expanded and modernized several times, today has good 40 beds, several guest rooms and a beautiful view terrace, which is certainly highly popular in good weather. At the beginning of March, however, we prefer to go inside. The café is still (or again? empty, but in the sales room the bear taps. Half the church seems to be covered with pastries, bread, cakes, cakes. The shop bell always rings. Questions are answered patiently. Although we have some time to wait, it won't be boring. In the baggage we can also choose our cake. Everything looks absolutely fresh, propper and appetizing. The cake tastes as great as it looks: the hazelnut egg variety surprises with foamy-skinned superstructure on a nutty basis with roasted aromas. For my taste quite sweet. Decenter is the fruity, almond splintered heidelberry cake, really resh and hearty the perfectly curled pulp, which is baked according to the recipe of the great-grandfather. A big coffee and a creamy cappuccino – everything served quite quickly after we could give up the order. When serving, Petra Klumpp, who had to be stressed during the urge, still has nice words and conversations and gives you the feeling that she is completely present for one. A very cozy, family atmosphere. Of course, 3 keys are handed out to me, so that I can only watch 3 rooms without obligation – they are distributed in the spacious building over several floors, are all modernized and have a sun balcony with views. Certainly a good place for groups or families, as for single travelers. The rooms are nice and friendly. By the way, the Seniorpatron Klumpp has a faible for vintage cars, so that some of its historic vehicles can also be borrowed. In the end, we'll take some backwork for home. On the hand-written invoice, it is no longer possible to understand each item, but I suspect that the rolls and sprinkles were given to us for on the go just for free. Very sympathetic. We are very happy to come back, destined in the group, determined with overnight stay(s).
Lovely place to stay and lovely people
I came here for black forest cake but they are not available. since i have climbed up the slope. I might as well eat a piece of cake with my black coffee to enjoy the scenery. the cute girl was really friendly. love her attitude.
We stayed one night while hiking through the black forest. The room was big, comfortable, quiet with an access to a balcony. Breakfast was included with it which was wonderful and the reception was very friendly and welcoming, would recommend.
