Lakeside - Baddeck

That must have been close. Saw outside for 1.5 hours before our 7:30 reservation. Over an hour inside until it is served. No bread or nothing to eat while waiting. Haddock a little dry service: Dine in Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

I will begin by saying that the location and view was beautiful. The food is extremely overpriced. They have vegan alternatives on their menu, but it is basically all that is not vegan removed and you will be charged the same price. We have the Tuscan pasta, the originally chicken, vegetables, pesto, sun-dried tomato-wine cream sauce, with parmesan. I specifically asked the waiter Hunter if the vegan version would still come with the sun-dried tomato white wine sauce without the cream. He said yes, so I went to the order. Then we get our pasta and there is NO sauce. Not a single leak in sight. Only olive oil and some vegetables. I'm okay, at least it's still a vegan option. Then we get the bill $25!!!! $25 for some loose penne, olive oil and some vegetables. I asked him if that was right and he said yes, because we added a BUNCH more Veggies....where? Where, Hunter? Where? There is no possibility that the amount of vegetables added corresponds to the same cost as a chicken, two sauces, and parmesan. Hunter was friendly and very smiling, but felt completely misleading. Cape Breton is a mess for vegan options, so go shopping food before you go there and bring your own food. Overall, disappointing, tasteless, expensive experience.

Nice place. Nice location. We ordered a chicken dish that sounded delicious however it was drowned in a cream sauce. Not to my taste.

Tried to order take out, everyone except the seater ignored me. I had people come in after I did, they were seated and had gotten their order placed.Place wasn’t very busy but staffed over looked me, thinking due to my race; Baddeck is known to be racist.
