We went to this restaurant for lunch and unfortunately found it to be unsatisfactory. The staff appeared uninterested in taking our order and the food seemed to be rushed, as if they were trying to serve us quickly. The main dish was extremely salty and the prices were quite high. Despite spending a lot of money, we left feeling disappointed with our meal.
During our visit to the Banashankari Devi Temple in April, we stumbled upon the Bridge Restaurant by the famous Clarks brand. The food was absolutely delicious.
Imagine waiting 1 hour for some to take your order and then get 1 hour for you water and then be served 1 hour for the food and that to something else than what you have ordered. I think they just managed to run their hotel. Namesake. It's just terrible. And only half a menu. Unbelievable.
We were staying at Clarks Inn for three nights, and because of the lack of restaurants in Badami took all our meals there. The first evening we were ushered into what seemed to be a private dining room (the main restaurant was full with a...tour group, I think). That evening we actually had the best meal of our stay: a Rajastani papad salad, vegetable keema, nan, and malai kofte with saffron and banana in a cashew sauce a bit unusual, and all very tasty. Service was fine, and the total bill was INR 1000. We were looking forward to good things to come.... The breakfast 'buffet ' was included in our room rate, it was dreadful For two mornings we endured it, on the 3rd morning we skipped it. At 9am there were only a few dried up idlis and sad looking pieces of watermelon left, and they were unable to replenish anything. Beside being bare the 'buffet ' table looked a filthy mess (see my photos), I even thought it might be a health hazard. Disgusting! And the staff, the restaurant manager included, were idly standing about or looking at the computer screen by the till, and only responded unwillingly when called. By necessity we had two more dinners at the restaurant, one Chinese, the other standard Indian vegetarian fare. Both meals were ok, nothing special, but not bad. What remained constantly bad, however, was the service, lazy, disinterested, ignorant. Definitely amongst the worst not only in India but the world...
