Da Alfonso - Bad Homburg

On our first visit (this already tells you how good the food is) my wife and I ordered one dish and a glass of wine each. Very tasty, nicely presented, and the wine proposed by the waiter was excellent. So we decided to go again...for lunch a couple of days later, and ordered the set menu. For a low price, you get an hors-d'oeuvre, a starter, a mains, and a dessert. Each of these was very good, and the wine proposed by another waiter again excellent. The negative was the extreme pressure we felt to get it over with. Time and again, the waiter came to check if we were finished with one dish and quiclkly came with the next. We like to take our time, and flet extremely rushed to finish our meal. A shame, because it really was very good, and deserved to be enjoyed at our leisure.

I was twice in a week, a lunch, an evening meal and it was always perfect. alfonso comes to the table and checks whether everything is in order, he even offered after dinner drinks by hendricks gin and tonic and expensive grappa. try to sit in the new closed winter garden or in the cozy restaurant. beautiful display of the appetizers. it feels like italy. best fegato and even better nodino.

Good location. Welcoming and attentive staff. Food was good, service was efficient and friendly. A good place for a pleasant lunch.

The server did not respect the tabs. we waited 40 minutes before our order. also the table we sat on was set for 2 people, we were 4 and had to put the table on the right amount of people themselves. certain points, people at tables around us began to leave because they were not served. when the food arrived, it was bland and tasteless and felt like it had been frozen before it was served. we ordered a glass soda we then saw coming out of a regular plastic bottle, which would be good if it wasn't completely flat, a few hours before serving. after each plate, the waiter cleaned the half of the table, and leave the rest of the dirty dishes on the table for another 20 minutes an example bad service.

One of the worst culinary experiences I had in many years. the service level was extremely bad. the waiter was rude during the service and the waiting period of when we had set ourselves until we had ordered was 40 minutes. 1 couple next to our table left...after 25 minutes waiting. the koks we ordered were made of a bottle and were both warm and flat. the bark carpaccio was the worst I ever had. had no taste and it was like it was in the freeze cabinet. the pasta court was okay, but the money wasn't worth it. the place was expensive, although service and eating was very bad. would not recommend anyone to go there.
