The dining area on the first floor is beautifully decorated in a modern yet somehow classical style, which is far from the rustic style of most restaurants in the region. In combination with elegant cutlery and glasses, this ensured a stylish ambience. The impeccable, fast service complied with this high standard. Both the menu page of the day and the permanent menu included a few classics of Austrian and international cuisine and several other special creations without being excessively experimental. In addition to many meats and some fish dishes, they also offered a sufficient choice for vegetarians. The sizes of the portions were such that for most guests a main course will not be enough, but must be combined either with a starter (or at least one soup) or with a dessert. The salads can be selected from a variety of buffets. However, 6.80 euros for a bowl of salad were an ugly price. The other dishes were not so expensive, but also expensive. With the exception of the strange combination of curd and salmon of spread served with walnut bread as amuse gaule we appreciate the food. Undoubtedly, “Legenstein” is a place for a very good kitchen. Whether this justifies the high price level it calculates can nevertheless be debated.
