El Meson del Pirata - Bacalar

My fiancée and I thought here was a quick snack before a boat tour on the bacalar lake, and we were pleasantly surprised! the man who served us was super friendly and helpful and we were able to find some vegetarian food (veggie omelette and empenadas,) as well as delicious ananas chaya water.

I'd give zero stars if I could, but I have to give one, and I'll give one because we have money back for a night. when we arrived, the staff was not very friendly, but okay. then we checked in our room (double room). the room is small, but that would be okay. but the leaves were dirty, so we had to ask if they could change it, and they did it. the new leaves weren't really cleaner....and smells not good. then we looked at the bathroom and the toilet and that was very, very ugly. the flush of the handwasher was closed, a lot water standing inside and you could not wash your hands. the showers are so dirty that you don't want to come in. also in women, a lot water standing inside and it smelled very bad. the whole water of the closed wash basin ran out of the showers over the terrace. that was the point, we felt very comfortable. then we have back to our room to relax, and the A/C was so loud and last but not least, the music from the restaurant was so loud! that was the moment, we packed our things and checked into a hotel a few meters around the corner! wanted to stay one night there! so not get 550pesos for a night! very dirty, very ugly, just bad! and we are not chic, we are now on a world trip for almost 1 year and slept in a lot different hostels and hotels all over the world. but that made us speechless!

Very friendly staff. reasonable prices. private room with ventilator and communal bath, for 2 persons, 300 pesos. with air cone 400 pesos. they also have dorms. great location in the center of the city would stay again.

Los tacos son suficientemente bastos, tiñe e muy buen sazón y el precio me parece justo, el agua de pepino con limón es deliciosa. Felicidades por su excelente atención

Este lugar es muy agradable para tomar algo y comer una botana, unas pizzas muy ricas en un ambiente muy casual su servicio muy amable y atento.
