A little thick for my taste but still flavorful. You can watch them grilling up the carne as you are putting your order in. And watch the vertical spitfire for the el pastor.
I grew up in a part of the world known for the best carne asada tacos(Sonora Mexico), so I'm very picky about my carne asada tacos. And I must say I was impressed by Tacos Tijuana. I had the flour tortilla tacos and a quesadilla. The tortillas, the meat, the salsas and guacamole were all amazing and were on the same level as the best tacos in Sonora. They have that flavor that ONLY a mesquite grill can give you. And all the young ladies working there were very nice. Congrats to the owners and thank you for bringing authentic carne asada tacos to the valley.
Shy of 5 starts, only because of the ambience and cleanliness of the place. It wasn't dirty, it just needs a little spark! That said, the tacos are delicious!!!!! Homemade tortillas! Small Menu, but straight to the point if you just want some good TJ tacos!
Good first experience. Tacos were yummy, our favorite was the carne asada. The al pastor was ok, but had a sort of cinnamon Thanksgiving taste which was a little off putting. Fresh ingredients, staff was friendly, inside of the restaurant was clean. We would go back again.
Safety concerns. Beware when ordering from this place. The guy cutting the meat often sharps that knife, observed for 30 minutes. He does not rinse or clean the knife after each sharpening. Mind you, he is cutting the meat with this knife that is going into YOUR food. You?ve been warned.
