The Cairngorm - Aviemore

Although I didn't stay at the Cairngorm Hotel in Aviemore, I visited the pub located downstairs and thought it was fantastic. They offered a great selection of drinks, and I enjoyed catching up with family in the beautifully decorated setting. Plus, the prices for the pints were very reasonable!

Review of the restaurant: The overall experience at the restaurant was a mixed bag. The food, in general, was just okay. I started with the cured salmon, which unfortunately wasn't as fresh as I had hoped. However, the haddock and chips dish was highly disappointing; the fish lacked flavor, and the chips were far from being great. Regarding the service, I must say that the barman was quite rude. I placed my order at the bar, and instead of coming over to me to take it properly, he simply pointed from where he was standing. It would have been more courteous if he had walked the short distance to ask for my order directly. Throughout the interaction, he appeared disinterested and unenthusiastic about his job. On a positive note, the staff during the meal service were exceptional. I was part of a large party, and they handled everything brilliantly, earning a solid 10/10. Their attitude and attentiveness contributed to making the meal enjoyable despite the earlier hiccups. In conclusion, the restaurant had some areas that need improvement, such as the freshness of their ingredients and the attitude of certain staff members. However, the meal service staff shone brightly and ensured a pleasant dining experience for our party.

We arrived for dinner and found the place bustling with activity. However, they have an efficient system in place that provides you with a buzzer to let you know when your table is ready. While we waited, we enjoyed drinks at the bar. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and they even provided a separate gluten-free menu, which was a nice touch. The portions were quite generous, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We would definitely return!

I recently dined at this restaurant and enjoyed a few beers at the bar. The food was some of the best I've had in a long time. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. I would highly recommend this place. We had to wait for a table, so it might be wise to book in advance, but it was definitely worth the wait!

Attended for lunch, there was a 30min wait for a table but we were allowed to wait in lounge and received a buzz on the pad they give you to let you know it's ready. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Myself and my partner took our young child with us and was great to see baby changing facilities in men's and ladies toilets.
