It's adjacent to Town Hall station and so very convenient if you are travelling by train.I had the roast beef - $12.80! It came with potatoes, peas and pumpkin. I noticed they had a lot of other menu choices. Very cheap, even a steak with chips and salad cost only $14.00!Let's face it, you're not expecting a great deal for that money, and a roast is good honest food, not loaded with sugars and fat!If you don't want to spend much money but are hungry you could do a lot worse than have a meal here.
Stumbled upon this cafeteria while getting photos printed at Woolworths Town Hall. Had the scotch fillet with chips, and was quite affordable at $17.00. Wonderful steak cooked to perfection, chips were cooked nicely. Will definitely return on future trips to Sydney!
Slow service! Most racist waitress ever! Took a late lunch break at 2 pm there was hardly anyone in the cafe. There was an older lady taking our order, literally took her 10 mins to repeat my order. Seriously how hard is T bone steak with gravy and you needed to repeat five times. The worst thing is that during the time my phone rang and I didn't even pick it up instead I put it on silent ( it is still vibrating). So the lady was like, ' sorry I can't take your Oder.' I was like,' excuse me?' ' I can't take your Oder because you are on your phone.' Can not believe this happened! need some serious customer training to do!! I understand the waitress's circumstance that she is a bit old and moody. But this is extremely rude to literally kick your customer away!
Had a cooked on order (better translated to ruined on order) Spaghetti carbonara. Paid $12.00 for over done pasta swimming in a totally curdled sauce with no taste with bits of burned bacon. I wonder what the toilet is going to be like after this.
This cafeteria is on the top floor of Woolworth store, right opposite Sydney Town Hall. They serve breakfast till 11am and you can chose from scones+cream+jam+coffe/tea for $6, through more extensive menu all the way to 'everything' dish for $12. English/American style breakfast with hash browns, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, etc. For lunch they have roasts with vegetables or salad and complimentary drink (tea, coffee, soft drink). Servings are generous and roast pork comes with an added piece of crackling. They also have fish, steaks, sandwiches, salads and the freshly prepared dishes of pasta, sea food or Asian style food. If you are not so hungry or just want to save money, you can order sausages and veg.Simple décor with booths and some stand-alone tables.Definitely a bargain and it is never noisy or busy like some other cheap restaurants. If you want some English/American style food, this is the place to go to. No one will rush you if you sit around a bit to rest your feet.
