We absolutely love Wax Myrle's. You can go both casual or formal with beautiful decor right alongside a relaxed pool entrance. Service has always been solid and the hot honey chicken on top of feta fries has been our highlight here so far. Scooping up the leftover honey and feta at the bottom of the plate with crispy fries never disappoints.
The main purpose of our visit Friday evening was to enjoy the pop-up holiday bar and we made a reservation to also enjoy dinner. When we arrived, we found out the holiday pop up bar was bought out for a company party. We were disappointed because it was not stated anywhere we looked when making the rez or on their website. We probably would have chosen somewhere else. Other people were also showing up for the holiday bar to find out the same news. They were able to move us inside because we had a rez for 6 on the patio, but the cabana style seating couldn't fit us. We appreciated them moving us to the lounge seating. Instead of eating dinner at this point, we ordered a couple cocktails instead, which were very good. Our server was nice and attentive. The inside was very cute but I was surprised that the dining side was a little dead. Overall, it was good to experience once.
Great ambiance and super friendly service, but there must have been an inexperienced bartender working because the drinks were horrible. I ordered a mocktail that tasted like pure jalapeño juice which was completely undrinkable, and my husband ordered a mixed drink that was terrible too. I wish we could have enjoyed our drinks before heading to our dinner date, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Maybe it was an off night.
The staff are friendly and helpful and offer great suggestions. The food is very good, the plantain gnocchi is unique but delicious. They have a limited but decent beer list.
