Thundercloud Subs - Austin

I’m really disappointed. I've been coming back to this restaurant for years since my college days, but I've never tried a sandwich until now. I ordered the hot pastrami as I usually do, and it was just awful. It had a strange smell and taste. The potatoes in the potato salad were hard, and there were no spices at all.

I typically dislike spending a lot on sandwiches, but the NY Italian is simply outstanding. I adore its spicy kick, especially with the addition of jalapeños. If you haven't visited Thundercloud yet, it's a great spot—affordable, quick, and delicious. They also serve Pepsi products, which means it’s one of the few places where you can enjoy Mountain Dew with your meal.

Overload for veggies and double charge for bacon. Service was brusk and aloof. I don't know if it's due to the proximity to campus, but would it kill these people to put some effort into their jobs? They look like it's an inconvenience for them to make sandwiches. Worst TCloud location in the city.

The food has great flavor, but there are times when the presentation is quite messy, with soggy bread and sandwiches that fall apart instead of being properly assembled. The staff occasionally come across as disinterested in their work, giving the impression that they want to leave as soon as possible. When I visited at 4 PM, just two hours before closing, the atmosphere felt anything but welcoming.

Place has a great atmosphere, clean, and organize. Had the New York style sub on wheat made it fast and looks great.highly recommend this place for lunch.
