Texas French Bread - Austin

I'm thrilled that TFB is back in business! The food is consistently fantastic and incredibly fresh. I just enjoyed a delicious niçoise salad for lunch that was outstanding. I also make sure to grab some English muffins every time I visit—I never realized they could taste so good! The outdoor seating area beneath the oak trees is lovely and comfortable, and the staff is wonderful. If it's been a while since your last visit, treat yourself while supporting a true Austin gem!

I'm so glad to see TFB back in action. Dropped in for a coffee and pastry when I was running errands. Delicious as usual. Hope they can resurrect the brick and mortar location. I have fond memories of that room from Studio 29 days as well as eating lunch at TFB.

The food was good, but I was shocked by the prices. A latte costs $6—it was nice, but I'd prefer a large Summermoon latte for less money. My turkey sandwich was $17! It was delicious, I’ll admit, and I don’t think I’ve had anything quite like it in Austin. We also treated a friend to an egg sandwich on an English muffin, which was around $12 or $13! I used to think Starbucks’ breakfast sandwich was expensive, but I was mistaken. In conclusion, the food is pretty good, but the prices are extremely high. I can't see myself going back anytime soon—who can afford it?

I ordered the breakfast tostada while my husband had the chicken salad sandwich with chips. The tostada was just okay; it felt like they simply piled ingredients from jars on top. The fried egg, however, was the highlight, cooked to perfection. The chicken salad was quite good, and the bread was delightful. The service was excellent, but I found the prices to be on the high side. On the plus side, the atmosphere was really lovely.
