Happy with my dinner at Saffron. Apps were the highlight

Food is very good and always cooked to the requested level of spice. Much better than the Taj Palace that it replaced

All but one of our party of 6 were first-time Saffron diners and all five were converted to Saffron believers after our recent visit. We over-ordered to try lots of dishes, and to satisfy the vegetarians, including the samosas, aloo gobi, saag paneer, roasted eggplant, chili paneer, bindi, tandoori lamb chops, tandoori chicken, and tandoori shrimp. Every dish was spot on and a hit with each diner. We enthusiastically anticipated our next day’s lunch of leftovers. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Although it’s not really convenient to where we live, and we have several Indian restaurants within a few minutes of our home, Saffron is now “OUR Indian restaurant.”

Worst service ever. I brought some friends here who were in from out of town. We came here because it was one of the only places we could make a reservation on short notice. Now I know why. We arrived at 7:15 and were seated within a few minutes, but everything went downhill after that. It took 20 minutes before we were offered menus and there were three tables that came after us already had their drinks. I think we must have been that one table that didn’t have an assigned server. We put our whole order in at once because it took so long to get someone to come over. We receive our drinks and apps pretty soon after that, but we waited an hour for our meals without having our waters refilled or being asked if we wanted another round of drinks. We had to finally have the water server track someone down for us when the last of the three tables that came after us were paying their bill and leaving. When we finally got our meals just before 9, we had about 15 minutes before they came around to give us the bill and tell us that the restaurant was about to close. The food was ok. Needless to say, we will not return.
