Phoenician Resto Cafe - Austin

I had a fantastic meal on a bustling Saturday! The hummus and falafel were delightful. I will definitely return.

I can't stop recommending Phoenician Resto-Cafe to everyone, whether they ask for suggestions or not. This place offers the freshest food in Austin, without a doubt! Owned by the wonderful Chef Ziad and his wife Amal, it serves the most delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Their food, along with their warm hospitality, truly makes me feel right at home.

The food was excellent, and I would definitely return for its quality. However, the service was lacking; we didn't receive water or drinks until we requested them, and it took quite some time for our appetizers to arrive after placing our order. It would have been a nice touch if they had offered us some bread and water to tide us over. It seems they might be overwhelmed in the evenings and don't have enough staff to handle the large crowds they are attracting.

Great Lebanese/Greek/Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. Fresh and seasoned perfectly. Portions were large enough to take home some leftovers, but not ridiculous and wasteful. We had standard options: gyro and shawarma plates, Greek salads, baba ghanouj, and rice, all nicely prepared. The sauces were delicious. Pita bread was thin and nothing special, but nothing wrong with it, either. We dined early so I hope the empty tables only reflected the rush hour traffic outside. The hospitality was superior to most casual dining spots.

Despite being busy on Valentine day, our food came on time, hot, excellent, authentic Lebanese from an awesome family. If you want a taste of Lebanon and you want it genuine and correctly made, The Phoenician Resto Cafe is your destination in Austin. We love this place and we keep coming back and bringing more friends.
