Pho Phi - Austin

This is definitely one of my favorite pho spots in Austin! I visit whenever I can. The broth is rich and full of flavor, which is hard to come by! I highly recommend it!

My experience at the restaurant was pretty average, and there's not much to elaborate on since I didn't order a lot. From the photos, it looked like I received what could be described as the leftovers for my large bowl. I enjoy any kind of pho since it's my favorite dish, but when the meat portions are skimpy, it leaves little to talk about. As for the broth, it was just okay; at least it didn't have that artificial citrus flavor that often comes with instant pho packages. Regarding the beef bánh huế (BBH), I have mixed feelings—while it lacked a strong beefy flavor, it did have a nice spice that I appreciated. However, the pork and other meats needed more time to stew as they were still a bit chewy. Overall, my meal wasn't terrible, but it didn't meet the quality I was hoping for.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. There were multiple health code violations, and the management was even worse. They stored raw meat next to cooked food, which is a clear violation, but the manager claimed it was their standard practice. I had my kids screaming at me for dinner, and all the manager could do was shrug and suggest that I should have known that "medium rare" meant the meat would be raw and that I should cook it myself. They didn't offer any assistance, even when I pointed out that some items were missing from my order. Honestly, it was a joke. I would never recommend eating here.

A great place to eat delicious Vietnamese food. I ordered soup Pho, and it was very tasty. The only thing I'd add is that their regular size is probably enough for a person. I ordered the large size instead and it was just too much for me. I highlyrecommend this place.

I ordered the P5, which came with eye round steak, brisket, and flank. It was excellent—the broth was outstanding and full of flavor. I'm quite particular about my broth, so that's saying something. I would definitely return just for the pho. I also tried the fried dumplings, which were tasty, but I personally prefer steamed dumplings.
