Don Mario Mexican - Austin

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was delightful, and the staff was incredibly friendly. As always, the tacos al pastor street tacos were outstanding, whether enjoyed plain or with any of the three delicious sauces that enhance their wonderful flavors. Congratulations on your location, Mario! Great job!

I absolutely love this place! We often pass by several other restaurants just to come here. Their red chilaquiles are genuinely authentic, and you can choose to have them spicy or in the non-spicy guajillo sauce. The Al Pastor street tacos are incredible and my personal favorite, but if I'm not too hungry, their regular Al Pastor or carnitas tacos are just as delicious and satisfying. They also offer a variety of salsas for the tacos, which is a nice touch. For something unique and tasty, I highly recommend their mole enchiladas with carnitas. I also enjoy their cinnamon-infused coffee. All of their mezcal cocktails are fantastic as well! We love dining here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

This is a fantastic family-owned restaurant that offers delicious food, excellent service, and a lively atmosphere! I met some old friends there for a lovely evening, and the staff never made us feel rushed. I genuinely believe this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area.

Best Queso Carnitas In Austin!!! Since relocating to Austin last year I have went to many restaurants in search of the best queso. Don Mario?s offers up the best queso carnitas I?ve ever had anywhere. The service is always stellar, I?ve always been seated right away. The food is excellent and makes it to the table sizzling hot and delicious. I highly recommend the enchiladas de camaron.

Great little spot with a liquor store, fitness center, donuts shop, and few other things in the same plaza. Parking was a little tight, but enough. Once inside, the hostess was quick to seat us and the waiter was quick to take order as well. Food was very reasonably priced and excellent portion. Good drink selection and menu and pretty authentic in my experience. No burrito if you are from California! We got some tacos and ingredients were fresh and tasty. Definitely a spot to come back for sure!
