Chew Chew Bbq - Austin

I love this little BBQ Caboose! It's classic, just Texas BBQ. I love the chopped beef brisket sandwich most. The owner and bbq master is really one of the most beautiful businessmen in Lake Travis area. Not pretentious, not terribly overpriced. We'll lose a jewel if they ever leave the area. Support this local bbq truck! You're not sorry!

Brisket is melt in your mouth good and the ribs are great, too! The owner is very friendly and really knows how to make Texas BBQ the right way. Definitely would recommend. I know I'll be back often.

I had ordered a large order for our family and pregnant wife. If the health department was present, they would have been shut Chew Chew down immediately. Raw turkey legs, old potatoes and days old brisket. I took the turkey legs back to the pit master (joke) and requested that they leave them on the pit for an additional hour and he chose to leave the legs off the pit and to sit for more bacteria to grow and become more wet and slimy. When I returned to pick up the turkey legs that I thought would have been fully cooked, to my surprise they were still gross and raw. Terrible food that 's dangerous to eat.

I ordered three turkey legs at $9.00 per leg and they were all slimy and raw. The brisket baked potato was old and grey and came with a cup of un refrigerated shredded cheese and the cup sour cream was hot with the consistency of hot milk. The brisket sandwich had a stale bun and the four corn on the cobs were raw. Very disappointing and a waste of $70, my family was very hungry due to refusing to eat the poor quality and unappetizing food. No heat and smoke from the pit which was an indication of the food possibly being prepared before arriving to Rockport Beach. Never again, so disgusting!

The sausage is the worst I have ever had. Came at 11am and they were serving per-cut sausage that was dry and had to be more that a day sitting out. They have a container the just grad with their hands that is room temperature. All the BBQ was dry and cold. Came in to buy lunch for my crew down the street needless to say they were not happy.
