Additionally, they automatically added a gratuity for the chefs, and you still have to tip the servers, which means you're looking at a minimum of 33% in tips. My main concern is that we didn't sit at a hibachi table, so I don't understand why we are required to tip chefs who are just cooking in the back. I really need clarification on that practice. While the food was good, I think this will be my first and last visit to this restaurant.
Like most hibachi restaurants, you get an entertaining show while your meal is prepared. Although the performance is fairly standard, the food is absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are generous—good luck finishing it all in one visit! They also have a nice selection of sake, and the two varieties I tried were excellent. It's a great place for families to gather and enjoy a meal together. Food: 5/5.
Admittedly, I really like hibachi and most places I’ve gone I like. But I do really appreciate Sakura in Aurora. It’s a smaller location, as opposed to others in the area, and it offers a low key vibe with really good food. They also have a solid non-grill menu that you can order from if you don’t want the hibachi show. My experience with Sakura though is you either get a really good show or really good food. This past time I went with my family, we had a real showman for our chef and he was super fun. But the food itself was lackluster. He was so focused on the show that the fried rice was barely warmed on the grill, the veggies weren’t fully cooked through, and the noodles were raw. I think he realized by the time it got to cooking the meats that he needed to focus more on the food. But even with that, I would definitely go back here. It’s fairly priced too.
Great experience for our first time! Decent food- large portions, fun atmosphere and they catered to my daughter for her Birthday! It was a week night so not super busy either. I appreciate they don’t pack ya in tight shoulder to shoulder the way the restaurant is set up. Service was A+.Vegetarian options: Plentiful menuParking: Plenty of parking
Quiet but fun Hibachi experience. Our chef was great at giving us a truly memorable experience. His train onion was a cute little trick. It was a sweet place for a date!Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly if the kids won't try to touch the fireParking: Easy to find parking lot with extra space.
