The Chicken Place - Aurora

We finally tried the chicken at Chuck's. It's the old Mary Brown's restaurant. The chicken was tasty and juicy, almost the same as Mary's. Their gravy is thick and salty, the way a lot of people would like. They changed the decor with newer tables and chairs. I'll try their chicken again.

Decided to give this spot a try and will not come back for 1 simple reason: poor service. The woman taking my order was not friendly at all - it appeared as though she did not want to be there. I had ordered a spicy chicken sandwich (not spicy at all) but the flavour of the "spicy" sauce was good. I decided to finish my son's sandwich and asked for some of the sauce. The response I got was for 50 cents I could... so if I ordered the spice up front then it is included - but ask for a little more to cover half a sandwich and it is an up charge?? I tried to explain the situation but the server just repeated it will cost 50 cents. The real kicker is that I gave a tip when I ordered - really wish I could take it back. For a small family run restaurant they do not have their priorities right.

The food is ok nothing spectacular. Calling ahead and arriving when they tell you to and still having to wait an extra 20 minutes is unacceptable in my books. If this was a one time thing I could see it but this has occurred on three different occasions not to mention getting my order wrong two out of the three times. Very disorganized and not able to handle a lunch crowd. Disappointed after reading all the other positive comments.

I have some family in Aurora & they told me while I was visiting I had to try this place out & I am so glad I did the food was amazing. I ordered the 1/2 chicken combo which comes with 2 sides, I chose the chickpea salad & the parisienne potatoes, & was only $13.75.  The chicken is all cooked to order & it shows with how juicy it is & grilled perfectly with beautiful char marks & finished off with house sauce. Make sure you come here hungry cause you get nice size portions.

Getting sick of the constant mess ups on the order. I asked for fries as a side, no fries. They really need someone else to double check orders after they are made. Not sure we will try again
