John Hill Estate Vineyard - Auckland

The best service! People are really friendly and food are great! Would love to visit again

We recently visited John Hill Estate Winery and had a delightful experience. We each sampled a flight of white wines and shared a Vineyard Selections Charcuterie board, which featured an impressive assortment of meats, fish, cheeses, crackers, and pickled vegetables. The service was exceptional, and the views were beautiful. Our favorite wine was the Sauvignon Blanc, so we decided to take a bottle home with us. This charming location is definitely worth a visit for its inviting dining area, superb service, wonderful wines, and delicious food.

The food was good. My family and I tried quite a number of dishes like the beef steak, beef steak with egg, the chicken, the burger and pasta. We also tasted the red wine. The beef steak at medium was not too chewy and enjoyable even without any additional sauces, however the size of the steak was a tad small. The chicken was interesting with the salsa on it. The burger was pretty decently sized big and the patty was soft and moist. Pasta was good and portion was definitely more filling than the steak. The service staff were very friendly. They got us seated us despite us arriving about approx 30 mins ahead of schedule. The waitress was all smiles and she did her best to get our drink orders before getting us the food menus. Do be prepared to wait for your food! We waited over an hour for our food. There was a crowd there when we were there. If you’re headed there, do go there in advance to order so that by the time the food arrive it wouldn’t be too hungry.

On our most recent visit, we enjoyed a delicious lunch, starting with appetizers of tacos, fries, and oysters, which were so good we had to order more. For our main courses, we had pizza and burgers, both of which were very satisfying. The prices for both food and drinks are quite reasonable. We also had a blast participating in archery and clay shooting, which added to the fun of the day. The highlight for us was the wine tasting; we sampled both their reds and whites, and they were fantastic! We loved them so much that we couldn't choose just one, so we decided to buy a bottle of each to take home — why not! As always, the service was exceptional. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

This is a wonderful little spot with delicious food and a friendly staff. Plus, the wine is quite good as well. We will definitely return, especially when the vines are full of fruit; the aroma will be incredible. Great job, everyone!
