Vanina's - Atlantic City

Their cinnamon funnel cake is to die for!! And they're open till 1A! It was a perfect late night snack

$11 for fried ice cream. I put it in quotes because it was literally a scoop of ice cream that they covered in corn flakes and dipped into the deep fryer for 2 seconds (I watched them prepare it). They purposely used cornflakes so it looks like it 's actually a deep fried ice cream. There was no actual layer of funnel cake. I 've seen real fried ice cream with actual funnel cake covering it. I am astounded at how they would blatantly deceive people. They also have a sign saying no refunds but now I can see why. Lastly, the sanitation of the store is very questionable. In their display case they had real food that looked quite old and even had what looked like a toy hot dog displayed next to it. There was also a sign saying no pictures of the food. There are much more affordable and HONEST dessert restaurants on the board walk besides this place.

Service was okay. Server wasn't friendly but wasn't rude either. Didn't wait too long for food. Got an iced tea that tasted like one of those really cheap 50 cent drinks you'd get at a corner store back in the day lol. Chips didn't taste fresh the pico de gallo was bland. I ordered two chicken tacos that were decent. The beef quesadilla that my boyfriend ordered was not. Super greasy mostly cheese was made with ground beef and not steak. Which would've been okay had it not been $12. Overall food was not worth the price.

Strawberry Cheesecake funnel cake is worth the 2+ hour drive. I wish I could find a exceptional spot like this in North Jersey.

Went there Saturday 9/19. Weather was nice so we sat outside. We got the bucket drinks and empanadas. Service was slow but both the drinks and food were awesome. Prices were the same as what you'd pay at Margaritaville or Land Shark. Would definitely go back.
