Ponko Chicken - Atlanta

My new restaurant! Loved the feeling of this place as soon as I left and the customer service was amazing. They were very patient as we learned the menu and gave us excellent suggestions. The food!!! All right! The original Ponko chicken (5 strips) with 2 pages was what I chose and loved every bite!! So happy I found this place, only wished it had been earlier!

I love it! The owner/manager was so sweet that she inaugurates us for a warm welcome so that we don't get lost as the first timer in the menu. She went through all specials including the taco Tuesday option with a $3 Margarita (sold! . The food was delicious and very generous on portions. Safely made to treat us like family will be back soon!

I am happy to give the 200th review and the 199th person to Ponko FIVE stars. The decades long wait for their reopening was absolutely worth it. Chicken finger with fries and sticky rice (with Teriyaki sauce and ranch). Order it. The best $10 you can spend in Atlanta.

Ponko Chicken is yum personified. The chicken pliers are delicate and juicy on the inside, but crisp and tasteful on the outside. Yum. The frits (whether sweet potatoes or Ponko frits) are crisp and tasteful on the outside, while hot and fluffy on the inside. Yus If you are not big on fried foods, then the grilled Ponko is for you. There are also salads and tofu. Just go to dinner!

What a great place to eat. Food is made fresh on site. Many varieties. You can get chicken strips regular, teriyaki, spicy, cubed teriyaki, different kinds of chicken sandwiches ... lots of sides including sticky rice, salads, unbelievable Cole slaw ... desserts that are so delicious. There's lots more but you'll just have to drop by so you can get the pleasure of smelling the chicken when you walk in the door! Dr. Pat says there's lots of surprises coming in the additions and more renovations. Watch for announcements. I think you'll all like them!! But, I'll just let Dr. Pat make those announcements. Don't miss this place. They've only been open a short time and already won FIRST PLACE at Taste of Atlanta!!
