That's why I'm rating it four stars instead of three. We started with the $5.50 #3 Fresh Steamed Spring Rolls with Shrimp, served with a peanut and hoisin (plum) sauce and topped with crushed nuts. This was the highlight of our meal, and it arrived quite quickly. The main courses also came out promptly. I ordered the $14.50 #21 Medium Bowl of Pho Bo Vien, but I was let down. I've enjoyed this dish many times before, and this instance was far below the usual quality. The broth was lacking in flavor, and the meatballs were unappealing both in texture and taste; they lacked the satisfying snap I expected and tasted somewhat stale. My dining companion ordered the $16.50 #36 Com Tam Bi Cha Suon Nuong Trung Ga, which was equally disappointing. The only part that stood out was the shredded roast pork. Everything else was overcooked—the grilled pork was tough, the steamed omelet was off in texture, and the egg, intended to be sunny-side up, was instead cooked hard with a dry yolk. **Service:** The service was very efficient. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, and our food typically arrived within 10 minutes of placing our orders. **Overall:** Despite this visit, I would come back, as I usually rate this restaurant four stars—it's among my top three favorites in the area. The location in Duluth off Pleasant Hill (Pho Dai Loi #3) is also convenient. For now, I'm giving it three stars based on my recent experience, but I plan to update this review after my next visit.
Furthermore, in today’s world, it’s surprising that a restaurant can operate without providing receipts or itemized bills upon request. I felt wronged, especially since all I wanted was a refund for my coconut water, not for the entire bill, which came to over $70. It shouldn’t have escalated to this point.
I genuinely adore this restaurant—the food is consistently fantastic! I've been visiting for around four years, and it only improves with each visit. It's truly one of my top choices, without a doubt! It deserves more than just five stars; I would gladly rate it a ten!
This is, without a doubt, the best pho I've ever tasted! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Even the small bowl is quite substantial, so keep that in mind. I always order the pho tai and the Vietnamese egg rolls, and I love to add chili oil and flakes to the sauce. It’s truly amazing!
Overall, we had a great experience and plan to come back. However, the vegetarian options were a bit limited. We brought our young boys along and coincidentally met another family with children, which created a pleasant atmosphere. The vibe was relaxed and very family-friendly. Upon our arrival, there was some confusion and a lack of direction. I waited quite a while for someone to attend to our table, so I ended up flagging down a waiter to take our orders, ensuring the kids wouldn’t have to wait too long. The food was delicious, but the service could definitely use some improvement, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy.
