However, it took a long time for our food to arrive, and when it did, everything was cold except for the side of potatoes. My steak, which I ordered medium, was not cooked to my request. My boyfriend found his meal so greasy that he couldn't finish it. The drinks were just okay, but overall, the food was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. The only reasons I gave this place two stars are the nice ambiance and the friendly, professional staff.
The service was excellent, but the steak stole the show. I had the Cajun ribeye topped with garlic butter, and it was incredible. We also shared the lobster mac and cheese and cheesecake with my sister. I highly recommend this place!
It's tough to find a better steakhouse in downtown Atlanta. It's conveniently located within walking distance from many hotels in the area. I ordered the filet Oscar style, cooked medium rare, and it was excellent. The side dishes are served family style. The atmosphere is pleasant, with nice tables, and you can smell the grilled steak in the air—though some might find it a bit overwhelming as it creates a slightly hazy ambiance.
This was my first time here and I enjoyed it overall. I had visited a Ruth's Chris a few weeks before and was extremely underwhelmed, so I was hoping Morton's would be better, and it definitely was. We were seated pretty quickly and our server, Sam, was great. The ambience is nice and that onion roll was a delicious starter. I ordered the salmon with au gratin potatoes and it made me want to call the police on the chef because it was simply to die for. The au gratin potatoes were definitely the star of the meal and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The cauliflower garnish was a little over-charred but I still ate every last bite. I had the cheesecake for dessert and I will give them an E for effort. It was unique and tasted good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the blueberry compote as it seemed like overkill. For an $80 meal, I do feel that I got way more for the money than at Ruth's Chris and will definitely recommend it.
Wow. This was our first time here at Morton's. Heard lots of good things about the establishment. It was a busy Sunday night but we managed to get a table by the bar. We had ordered a couple for steaks with a side of onion rings. Prior to receiving the order, we got a massive bread roll with whipped butter. It was just incredible. The steaks were even better. Onion rings were cooked perfectly. Two thumbs up.
