We toured the whole state and on our way out we hit Fox Bros for dinner. Atmosphere was nice, the waiter was nice. My oldest was so hyped about the Brisket and couldn't wait for it come out. Such a disappoint to him when his Brisket was dry and rubbery, and it was on top of a slice of white bread, not Texas toast like it claimed. He also said that he didn't see any smokers, they all looked like pressure cookers. When my son asked the waiter why the food was dry, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I had the pulled pork which was also very dry, I would have used the sauce , but It was all spicy and I don't do well with spice. My wife had the chicken and says that was good.
Man you can’t beat this place it the best barbecue in Atlanta!!!! The brisket was really flavor for the smoked jalapeño cheddar sausages, my favorite. The chicken fried ribs are a must try!!!! These is so many good things to say about this place it’s crazy. The staff were very helpful. Wait time was only about 30 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. Although it is a little difficult to find a parking, I wish you the best of luck with that. All in all this is a great place to get real deal, Texas style barbecue. If you love barbecue, this is the place to go!!!!!!!!!
Title: Hidden Gem in a Rough Neighborhood I recently had the chance to visit this BBQ joint, and let me tell you, it 's a real hidden gem tucked away in a somewhat sketchy part of town. While the area may not be the most inviting, the experience at this dive-bar-style BBQ restaurant more than makes up for it. The true star of the show here is the BBQ. The menu is straightforward but delivers on flavor. The staff is friendly and attentive, despite the dive bar vibe.
We received excellent service at Fox Bros. We will definitely come back. But some of the food and drinks were amiss. We had Fried Chicken Ribs, Texas Fries, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Spicy Green Beans, Fox-A-Roni, Smoked wings, Banana Pudding, Dr. Pepper Cake, 19th Hole and Cathead Cooler, Long Island Ice Tea, Moscow Mule, Rum Runner, Potato Salad, Brunswick Stew and Baked Beans. Fried Ribs, Spicy Green Beans, Moscow Mule, Long Island Tea and Rum Runners were definite nos! My pulled pork sandwich was ok. Didn’t like their BBQ sauces though. The potatoe sauce needed a little more punch of flavor, but it was on the right track. The BBQ beans and Brunswick Stew were amazing. Loved my Cathead Cooler and the 19th hole. Boyfriend liked the Cathole Cooler too but he wanted it to be stronger. He absolutely hated the Fried Rib. He said it was too fatty and it was just not good. My sandwich was cool but honestly, I wasn’t a fan of the brioche bun. I was cool with the banana pudding. Didn’t love it. But I ate every bite. The Dr. Pepper Cake makes me wonder if I got the right dessert cuz it didn’t like older photos of the same item so who knows. Didn’t like it. Tasted old. Too much chocolate mousse and not enough cake. It was in a round, but I thought it would be a slice of cake. My boyfriend came back a few days later and got the huge Beef Short Rib. That thing was huge. He wished they sold it everyday. I really love the atmosphere. I’ve been here 2 times prior. I would recommend it. I loved my server. She was phenomenal! So attentive, very thorough and polite. Those Texas Fries were phenomenal though. Get that one for sure. But I did want pickled jalapeños instead of fresh jalapeños. And boyfriend wanted more brisket. Next time we will add it to our order. You would be crazy not to come here. We are major foodies and we can be a bit more critical. That’s why I know I’ll be back because we were feeling more adventurous and sometimes it works against us.
It looks like an old house from the outside but inside it’s set up like a dive bar/restaurant. It took about 40 minutes to get a table of seven seated, but the place was packed with a steady stream of cars coming in and out for takeout orders. For appetizers we ordered Texas fries, fried pickles and jalapeños, and the chicken fried ribs. The chicken fried ribs are a must try for everyone who comes here because they are delicious! The ribs were good. The chicken had that nice smoky flavor. The brisket got two thumbs up but no one seemed to care for the sides as they were rather bland and tasteless. Service was good even though the restaurant was packed. I figured that we’d come back to give them a try another day.
