My supper club group made a reservation for 8 here on a Thursday night. The place was pretty much empty when we came in, which seemed odd for a nice spring evening but hey...that just means we can have the place to ourselves right?! I walked in to find no greeter, no wait staff, nothing. I waited at the front for about 10 minutes, then someone finally came over to greet me. They pointed to our table and said that they would be back with waters soon. About 10 minutes later, the waitress came by with glasses and water jugs. I ordered a Diet Coke and waited for my friends to trickle in. A few friends ordered drinks that they said tasted very good but everything took a very long time to get to the table. When attempting to order, I suggested that we go around the table in order to make life easier for the waitress. After the 3rd person ordered their meal, the waitress had to stop and go back to the first person and re-start the order process because she lost her place . We all looked at each other like...here we go! Lol The food came, it was all delicious! 2 people ordered the hanger steak entree and there was something on the plate that looked like a potato but didn 't taste like it. When they asked the waitress what that veggie was, she replied with I don 't know, they put all kinds of weird stuff in these dishes . When pressed further, she went to get the menu and read off the ingredients listed. At some point, one of the diners asked for another drink and we were told that both the kitchen and bar were now closed. When that diner responded with it would have been nice to know that earlier so I could have ordered another drink the waitress said yeah, sorry.... Needless to say, we were all disappointed because we had intentions of ordering dessert as well. Overall, service and experience from the restaurant were HORRIBLE but the food was excellent. If they can work out their staffing issues, I 'd be happy to come back, but I can 't imagine they will stay in business very long if they don 't.
I was wondering why it was empty in the evening. I didn't really like the food and I will be honest. I don't think I can recommend this place. Their menu is too fixed for me. The strawberry lemonade they made was too tart and the steak was dry w/no demi glaze or au jus to accompany. The salad dressing for the salad was horrible. Imagine lemon juice on a salad. While that may be ok for some people, it's not universally accepted. The service was great and the ambiance is cool. They have outside seating and they comp parking. It's very easy to get to and it's not super loud. Everything is cool except the food. I'm thinking they need a new head chef who has a universal concept. For example, offer a better tasting bread with butter. Fix the salad dressing. It's too bitter. Offer au jus or demi glaze for the steak and broaden the menu items. It's the food y'all. It doesn't taste right to me.
I love how this place has limited seating, made me feel like I was in a private dinner almost. Their cocktails are great as well and servers knew exactly what I wanted as I get sometimes I ask for too much. Overall atmosphere is average sound but intimate. The pasta- I have to say was the best. We've tried places around the area and this pasta was my favorite. Everything here taste like it was just made for you. Desert- don't skip on the tiramisu it was creamy and layered. Almost wanted to get my own instead of sharing!
You're better off ordering at dominoes. Food was terrible, took a long time but the drinks were good.
The gnocchi is the best I've had in Atlanta- if not best ever. Also got the shisito peppers which were well seasoned and also awesome. Definitely check out this place!
