My experience at the restaurant at Sheraton/Marriott was fantastic. During our road trip in Ireland, we stayed there for a night and enjoyed an early bird dinner for 31.95€ per person. The three-course dinner included a pine nut salad, chicken wings, salmon with vegetables, beef spare ribs, gluten-free sorbet, and chocolate caramel cake with ice cream for dessert. The service was fast and the portions were generous. I was pleased to see gluten-free options, including bread. The buffet breakfast the next morning was also excellent with a variety of hot and cold choices. The staff were accommodating, offering specialty coffees and serving tea or coffee promptly. It was a great way to start the day before hitting the road. Overall, it was a superb dining experience at Sheraton/Marriott.
Menu a little boring. quality of food was good, but at this price, so it should be. the atmosphere in the restaurant was not tempting. I'm sure there's better place to go in athlone, but then maybe not
The breakfast is nice to choose the last and the staff was very helpful, daniela especially. the dinner was different, the room was freezing and the courses were served very quickly than if they wanted us to get out. no brot for the table. the goat cheese souffle was terrible, like a rubber ciche. the braided bark was beautiful, but the veg very bland and it was wrapped in two soggy carbs, the absolutely stank. we were not advised that the bottles of what we thought was water of conduct had a charge. the waitress did not check whether someone wanted to taste the wine, but only poured the full glasses. the manager told us at the arrival that there was no booking for us, although there was back in the february in the frame of a package. but there was a table set for and many other tables empty so I don't know why a big thing was made of it.
The breakfast selection was good and the staff, especially Daniela, was very helpful. However, the dinner experience was disappointing. The room was cold, the dishes were served quickly as if they wanted to rush us out, and there was no bread provided. The goat cheese souffle was terrible and the braised pork was bland and wrapped in soggy carbs. The wine bottles had a charge that we were not informed about, and the waitress did not offer anyone a taste before pouring full glasses. The manager claimed there was no reservation for us, even though there was one made in February as part of a package deal. Despite there being a table set for 6 and plenty of empty tables, it was made into a big issue.
