Avalanche Pizza - Athens

Overall a pretty solid pizza place. All of our food was hot prepared on time. The jalapeno poppers were probably the best thing we got. They were really delicious and had a good balance of bread to filling. The Southeast Engine Delight was a surprise. It was much better than anticipated! It was really flavorful and well seasoned. I love the whole roasted garlic cloves, though I do feel like the potatoes might have been better if they were cut a little smaller. But overall, we were really happy with this one! While we were most excited about the Super Mushroom, this was actually the biggest disappointment for us. Seeing other pictures from reviews, I was looking forward to a pizza coated edge to edge in mushrooms. But that wasn't the case. The most unfortunate part was how bland and unseasoned this pizza was. For as much as it has going on, and how good the other items were this pizza tasted like absolutely nothing at all. I would still be interested in going back sometime trying some of their other options though!

I have never come across a better hole-in-the-wall pizza joint than this one! Let me tell you, this is hands down the best pizza I have ever tasted. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza and baked potato pizza and oh my goodness, they were absolutely delicious!

Amazing pizza. The top choice you can find anywhere. Available as whole pizzas or by the slice.

The pizza at this restaurant is fantastic and the service is good. I highly recommend trying their ninja sauce on the wings.

This has been my favorite pizza since moving down here! The sauce is just right, the toppings are great, and the staff is wonderful. I am so happy. I can't say enough great things. Thank you for the free pizza when I moved in!
