Our waiter was really nice and attended us quickly. The plates were a good portion, and the food tasted good. We did have to wait a while before we received our food. If you're hungry or in a hurry, you might want to go somewhere else if you can't wait. We waited around 45 minutes for our food. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't bother us. We ordered the full rack of ribs, sausage, and the mac cheese. My husband loved the mac and cheese. He said it was delicious. It's made with different cheeses. My mother in law ordered some sweet potato tots, and she said they were really good. Each plate is around $15 to $20 dollars, which is a good price. If you order a soft drink, you do receive a souvenir plastic cup. The plates are set up nicely.Parking: They do have a parking lot, but it's small and tight. Street parking is available, but it's busy and has a 2 hour minimum. We had to drive a couple of times around to find parking.
Symbol of bear on the roof and surrounded by beautiful colourful flowers! They have a counter bar and outside tables. Also it was reasonable price too!Chicken wings are delicious:
We visited Hickory House for breakfast on a Monday morning around 9a. There were only a handful of tables full when we arrived and a few more filled during our stay. The sign walking in seemed to mention it was voted best breakfast in Aspen, but I didn't read it closely. So, we had high hopes. Unfortunately, the food was very bland and the service average. A member of our party ordered toast, but was served biscuits. Another added a side order of hash browns but those were forgotten. Everyone in our party of four agreed that the food was just boring and a member of our party took some heat for recommending the place. He too was disappointed! Lol
Excellent place to eat. Great food and the atmosphere feels very at home. Service was great as well. I miss the model train they used to have running along the walls. I would definitely recommend eating there!
This was a nice spot for lunch a little bit away from downtown Aspen. The bbq was fine. The chicken wings were pretty good, and the real star of the meal was the house made blue cheese dressing.
