Sauce - Ashland

I have been a loyal supporter of Sauce since they opened. Living in Ashland for 30 years, I understand the importance of supporting local businesses. Despite the challenges that came with Covid, I continued to dine at Sauce. However, I have been increasingly disappointed with the service and quality of food. On my latest visit, I spent $97 and the food was old and dry. The braised beef and white rice were particularly unappetizing, and the vegetables seemed old as well. When I tried to address my concerns with the owner or manager, I was met with indifference and poor customer service. After this experience, I have decided not to return to Sauce. It's a shame, because I used to enjoy their desserts. However, the declining quality of food and service has made me rethink my support for this establishment.

Sauce is considered one of the top fresh food restaurants in the valley. They offer gluten-free and vegan choices, all made with organic ingredients. The menu includes delicious desserts with gluten-free, sugar-free, and soy-free options, as well as homemade soups and sauces available for purchase. Prices are affordable, but expect a wait since everything is prepared fresh. Seating may be limited during peak hours.

The server who took our order was lacking in social skills. They did not make eye contact and appeared annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. The roasted Brussels sprouts were refunded upon my request, as they were overcooked and mushy. The brown rice and vegetables in my curry dish were also overcooked. No one checked on us or our meal throughout the dining experience. In my opinion, Sauce has declined in quality over the past year. Come on Sauce, step up your game! You can do better.

An unreliable dining experience. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes it is very good quality with delicious fresh young whole foods. Sometimes, I get overcharged for a poorly chopped salad that includes multiple romaine ends and a sheet of sushi nori??? Who does this? The staff is uninviting, it is clear that they don't want to be there. Like many people who choose to go to Sauce, I have some dietary restrictions to promote my health. When I've asked the staff questions about nutritional content or a little more info on their advertised low glycemic desserts, the staff is mystified.

I used to love going to Sauce because the food was so tasty. The service has always been terrible but the food was good enough that I kept going back. I don 't know if it was a fluke today but I ordered a Double Feel Good and was really disappointed. It just didn 't taste as good as it used to. The prices have also gone way up. I ordered the food ahead and it wasn 't ready when I arrived. Despite that, the food was already cold when they gave it to me. With the cost, terrible service and now food that doesn 't even taste good, I don 't see any reason to go back
