Casa Herradura Family Mexican - Ashland

This is the best Mexican restaurant in and around Ashland! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is outstanding. I've never had a bad meal here, and I've been a regular since they opened. The main dining room can get a bit loud on weekend nights, but the patio is always a lovely space—completely screened, with plenty of fans. Plus, the waitstaff pays attention to you even when you're seated outside. I absolutely love it!

The fajitas were served warm, but they didn't have that signature sizzling sound. The food lacked flavor, and the beans were disappointing. The only highlight was the chips and the sauces that accompanied our meal. I wouldn’t return if I'm in the area; this isn’t authentic Mexican cuisine, in my view. Ratings: Food: 1, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 1.

I celebrated my birthday here, and the staff was amazing! I had the Burrito California, which was enjoyable. Overall, I'd rate the food a 4, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5.

Great atmosphere, superb service, but thought the food was so so. My wife actually Raves about this place so took my kids to dinner there one evening. It's a pretty good size place with two different areas to sit in in a large outdoor covered patio. The decor was very crisp and colorful and the wait staff was super courteous and pretty Johnny on the spot. I ordered my normal chili relleno like I do at all new places I try, still looking for places that do not batter, unfortunately this place a dozen egg batter on the pepper. That's typically not a big problem I just peel the egg batter off and then eat the pepper, but the filling in this one I had never tasted before. Kind of hard to explain it was almost like it was stale and overcooked. The rice was so dry I almost had to take a sip of my drink every time I took a fork full. The beans was almost like a soup and tasted a little off as well. My daughter and I didn't really enjoy our meals, my son did though. He thought his tacos were fantastic. I'd be willing to give these guys another try, especially since my wife likes this place so much I think she says they have a really good cheese dip. But as a first impressions they were just okay.
