Hemingway's Cuba - Asheville

Waited 50 minutes for what was essentially grilled chicken. Not overly crowded at the time of our reservation. Drinks were good but had diet coke served in plastic to go cup ? When meal finally served chicken was inedible! So overcooked couldn't be eaten. Told server I wasn't paying for it and because we waited so long it was too late for anything else. Meal taken off our bill but no manager bothered to come to table. People at table next to us said they wished they had spoken up cause their meals awful too. Have drinks , eat elsewhere !!!!

Very disappointed with the food being a Cuban restaurant we were looking forward to traditional Cuban flavor which we did not get! The Congri was distasteful as well as the Yuca Fries. Please discuss seasoning with ur chef or you will be losing a lot of business

The outdoor patio has a very nice view of the mountains in the distance. The gentle breeze made for a pleasant evening to dine outside. While the view of the sunset wasn't perfect, it was still a good experience. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and compensated us for a mixup on our order without having to ask. The corn quest with soft pretzels was very tasty and quite good. I ordered the tacos to be prepared vegetarian and they were very delicious. THey had the perfect amount of kick in the sauce used to dress them. Then the decadent chocolate desert was wonderful. My friend lost her keys at the table and the staff was very kind to call us and let us know they had found them before we noticed they were missing. Overall, it was a great experience. Good ambiance, good food, good service, and good drinks.

We had visited this restaurant once before, 3 years ago, and loved it. We live in Texas. Camping in the mountains for a week, so dinner in town was a special occasion. Brought some friends back with us during this visit. The food did not disappoint, unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our server only came when we asked the hostess to hale her. The tostones sampler appetizer was excellent, almost a meal onto itself. By the way, when you go to pay, the default tip options are 20%, 22% or 25%. With the server stand in over me as I paid, it was uncomfortably intimidating.

The terrace view was nice around sunset. It was loud outside with the music which we didn't mind. It took a while for us to get anything so we had a drink and app there and took a meal and dessert home.
