Heiwa Shokudo - Asheville

I first visited Heiwa in the late 90s and hadn't returned in 20 years until today. It lived up to my memories! The staff were wonderful. I ordered a tuna poke box along with miso soup and tea, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I loved sitting on the side patio and soaking up the fresh fall air.

Best ramen I've ever had! Everything was well seasoned and fresh and tasted amazing. And the mochi is excellent too! We had the mango and it was so good. I also got a frozen mango sake drink that was a perfect refresher after the hot ramen. Great littlespot for lunch. The patio is really pleasant and the service is friendly and fast. Highly recommend!

Loved everything about this place service is amazing and the food exceeded expectations. Best sushi I?ve had in Asheville yet! Very fresh and done right no fillers or short cuts. And the tonkatsu pork belly ramen was amazing. Paired with the cozy, homeyvibe and lounge/jazz music it made for the perfect weekday lunch

The service was a bit slow, but it was definitely worth it. The overall experience was great, and I would definitely come back, although perhaps with fewer dishes next time. I should also mention that all their ramen is made with pork broth; however, the server informed us that there is a vegan option available.

In the charming little town of Asheville, NC, Heiwa Shokudo stands out as a delightful find right downtown. The staff were wonderfully polite, friendly, and welcoming, contributing to a warm atmosphere. The restaurant itself felt incredibly homely and cozy. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices; I couldn't believe how much I got for what I spent. While the hot pot had a flavor reminiscent of ramen broth, it was still delicious. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her ramen as well. This establishment is very accommodating for vegans, vegetarians, and everyone in between. Although there isn’t a dedicated parking lot, you can find paid parking or street parking nearby. Overall, I would definitely return to this spot on my next visit to Asheville.
