Ashcroft River Inn Restaurant & Pub

In the $$ - $$$ category this little restaurant is the best between the two towns by a country mile [pun intended] The aesthetics are totally 1969 but the chef is trying hard to present simple country town food in the best way possible. I loved that the wings were fresh and well cooked and my ribs were not just boiled dry but prepared with a good mash and roast vegetables. A modernization of the decor would be worthwhile but I doubt the restaurant is going well enough to warrant it. I'll be back and if you are in the area don't waste your time going elsewhere.

We were a large group. The servers did a good job accommodating us They like to serve a nice sized glass of wine - yummy. Good menu selection to suit most tastes. Once ordered, the food came fairly quickly.

Wonderful food. Well worth visiting. You can take guests here and know you will be served an outstanding meal.

I have eaten here several times. Have had breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Always good food and good and friendly service. Love the view of the river going by your window and interesting to watch the various trains going along the river across river from the restaurant. Suggest you try and get a window seat facing the river.Doug.

Went for breakfast food was tasty we all had eggs ham hashbrowns and toast and tea or coffee we all enjoyed our food , price was fine and good service, great location
