My bestie and I eat there quite often. Never had a bad meal! The staff and the owner are very friendly and quite helpful. Food is always hot when its supposed to be and cold when its supposed to be. Great place for family and friends to have a great homecooked meal. I especiallhy love the Cashew Chicken on Fridays. Kid-friendliness: vry family friendly!!
I waited to post this as I was unsure how to do it. This was our first visit, and we came for the great reviews. We must have come the wrong/bad day. We had a party of 3 for lunch/dinner, our food was ok, took about an hour to come out. Atmosphere of the restaurant was cute, there is a bigger room with jukebox and pool table. We sat on the smaller side. They were out of alot of their menu and desserts items. Waitress came back 3 times before I settled on a salad. This is not the place to eat if in a hurry. Food was warm, and salad cheese was melted like they made that first while they cooked my husbands chicken. Female server was new, and had every excuse possible as to why it took so long and why it wasnt hot. She could have used some training or at least someone by her side. Her dress i felt was not appropriate for the small town family atmosphere. The owner came around and asked how everything was, we let her know the wait was a little long and my cheese was melted. She apologized and had every excuse as to why, she got a little attitude when she realized we were actually complaining, i think she didn't expect us to. She seemed not happy and not one to handle customer complaints. We paid our bill and the young man that took our money was very friendly. I have owned a mom and pop restaurant and know its not easy to make evweyone happy, after 15 years, it was time for us to retire. Helpful advice for the owner... smile more, this business is about people. In this line of work, you have to learn to take complaints with a grain of salt, do not be aggressive with your patrons and know, even when they are wrong the customer is always right. We can't make every one happy all the time, but we can make them happy for the time they are there. Own the complaints/compliments. Yes compliments are always easier to hear, but we cant please them all. Make the customer feel like they were heard and not ignored or in the wrong for saying the food wasnt the best. You may lose one customer, but you don't always know who that customer will take with them. Not trying to tell you how to run a business, just some helpful advice from one mom pop to another. We plan on stopping in again our next time through and hopefully can change this review to a 5 star.
