Have come here for lunch on occasion and has been great outside. Tonight we decided to eat inside for the air conditioning, closest to the window since it was 100 degrees inland today. It started good with the waiter taking our drink order. Then we decided on oysters and the beet salad. The oysters were good but small. The beet salad was just 2 large circle beets and a small one with a dollop of goat cheese, not really a salad. We ordered the salmon and halibut special. The salmon was tasty and well done like I asked but the potatoes that came were not edible. The halibut was cooked well. We ordered coffees and the cheesecake. The coffee came but no desert. The waiter disappeared and then was serving other tables. He finally looked over and we told him we never got the desert. It finally came and was good. To sum it up, if the waiter was better I would have given 4 stars, but he let us wait way too long and he never asked if we wanted more drinks.
Branzino, meatballs, oysters and Pasta with sausage was good although pasta could've been hotter. Another pasta dish with scallops was not heated enough it was lukewarm/cold. Risotto side dish had too much butter/oil and no cheese taste. Second floor view was nice and service was good. They did comp meatballs due to cold pasta dish.
I would like a Manager and or Owner to call me if possible. Extreme disappointed in my experience here. I went in tonight at 530pm for a 6pm reservation with my parents, husband, and 3 yr old son who I walked into the restaurant while he was asleep in my arms. The inside of the downstairs dining room was completely empty and I asked for a booth as my son was asleep in my arms. They told me every booth was reserved, yet we made reservations and by the time we left the restaurant was still pretty much empty. Instead— they had me walk up a long flight of stairs (with my sleeping 30lb 3 yr old in my arms) while I was wearing a long dress and sandals (completely unnecessary to do this to someone). The 2 young women seemed really perplexed when it came to assigning tables and asked my Father 3 different times to describe the size of our party to the point where my Father said, “you're scaring me.” We all chuckled at that but it was pretty much true. I get to the inside of the upstairs dining room and I see plenty of tables for 5 or 6 that are completely empty— instead of giving us one of those they make us sit at a 4 top with a high chair at the end of it (for my son who is dead asleep) so now I'm sitting there with my son asleep in my arms in a chair at a cramped table while all these larger tables are empty for the next 2 hours!!!! I asked the tall young African American Host if we could sit at a larger table closer to the ocean view — he tells me those tables are reserved (yet they're empty for the next 2 hours and we're cramped at a smaller table further away from the ocean view) Our waitress Brianna was nice and the food was OK. Yet, to add insult to injury at the end of our meal a father and Son appeared and they sat them by us, they asked for a better table and they were given it immediately. Why couldn't we have that treatment when we arrived before them? Perhaps they're against Toddlers but my sleepy son caused 0 issues for anyone there. No kids menu.
The general vibe of the restaurant is one of welcome. We sat upstairs and were promptly attended to. Our waiter was jovial, helpful in our selections and attentive. Despite it being a busy evening we didn't feel neglected whatsoever. The eggplant parmesan starter was delicious . For our main course, my wife had the truly delectable branzino, while i had the faro island salmon. Will definitely be going back!
