Iron Whale - Asbury Park

My husband and I had date night here. We had a 6pm reservation on a Saturday night got seated right away. We opted to eat inside, but had a great view of the ocean. Our server was excellent. She brought our drinks out quickly. For an app, we shared calamari (I’m super picky with my calamari and it was delicious! . For our dinner, I had fish tacos hubby had shrimp tacos. We shared a side of couscous. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Looking forward to our next visit!

I would say that at first our server was missing in action. Someone chases her down. Ultimately got claims app and while delicious, we had 8 baby clams (1 was not open so we didn’t eat it) for $16. A bit pricey…. Food is better than average but that’s target. Good set up and location. Just a place to grab a bite.

Arrived early for our reservation was told to wait until our table was bussed, we were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time and only becasue I asked was the table bussed? I requested a booth and didn’t receive one. The salmon tacos jad no flavor, missed the mark with taste. I’m not sure we will return unfortunately.

They first sat us at a table right next to the bar where you each sit on the same side and face the kitchen. When asking the hostess to move they seemed annoyed. When we told the waiter we were moving they also got annoyed. The food was okay, not sure it was worth the money

We had clients in from Cali. They loved the food how fresh and the variety of different dishes. The location was a hit also especially since it was a full moon that night.
