The floors, chairs, and carpet by the front door were dirty. I would have expected better from Costa. I wouldn't recommend this place to others or come back myself.
There were no cups available due to a broken dishwasher. The toilet was dirty and there was no toilet paper. Overall, the experience was disgusting and not what one would expect from a Costa restaurant.
The cappuccinos were delightful and the server was charming in this town centre location. She was ever smiling, she rustled up our coffees, and glasses with ice for our 500ml coke zeros and she generally fussed over us delivering our order to our table. She fussed over all of her customers. It struck me watching the staff just how different this place is to Starbucks. Much more friendly and no extra charge for a glass of iced water (see my review of rip off Starbucks Portsmouth). Costa also sells Coke Zero which the other lot don’t ice cold coke is great when the temperature is steaming. We were delighted that the place had effective air conditioning as it was 34c hotter than Barcelona. Costa now advertises that it has linked up with Marks Spencer for food so it’s a touch of real class in their sandwiches, wraps and sausage rolls. They had free WiFi, the seating was comfortable and their toilet facilities were clean with paper towels provided to dry hands. Go Costa.
Packets of milk on the floor right next to the bin... is this really hygienic. Not even refeigerated. Lady making coffees really not happy to be here. Poor
Was on holiday and popped into the shop on a very hot day. The store was busy and the staff were friendly and working really hard. Well done to them for keeping their cool and keeping a smile on their faces. Always top marks for Costa staff.
