O Manjar De Arouca

Waiting time too long, and food leaves something to be desired I ordered steak from Arouquense and had a tough meat full of nerves, for my daughter a pizza that took forever to come, the only positive point I found was the server I was very disappointed. I ordered bread and the grilled lamb. I ordered the bread knowing the lamb was going ti take some time. I also orgot they don’t serve butter, just have to ask. I liked the variety of breads and the lamb was flavorful. It came with rice and fries. Have to say it was a lot of food. One of the two pieces of lamb was a bit tough, luckily I started with that one. It’s a nice sized and locally popular restaurant so they do get busy. Fortunately I went between meals so was able to walk right in.

Yesterday we got the visit of our Brazilian friends and so we did a drove to the “Feira Medieval” in the city of Arouca, on our arrival it was a bit late so we went straight to the local restaurant “O Manjar de Arouca” this in order to have some lunch, the restaurant is located just on the roundabout into the city centre. We went there with our Brazilian friends. Very friendly service, nice and very clean interior, and the food is more than ok, and is the Portuguese kitchen, we loved to have lunch in this location, and surely we will return, which means that we warmly recommend this restaurant, nothing at all expensive too.

Wow! The food. Excellent. Such kind people reading our mind (not speaking English, but really trying to be welcoming and understanding). Will be back.
