We came across this restaurant and even though it didn't look the best from the outside, we thought it would be warmer than being outdoors. I asked for a table and there were plenty available, but I noticed that there were also some reservations. We didn't stay long as we had a show to attend, but the restaurant was full by the time we left. It seemed like people knew each other and I overheard conversations indicating that people frequently dined there. Amy, one of the servers, was extremely friendly and provided quick recommendations on what to order, mentioning which dishes were not marinated. She described the dishes as if she was the one preparing them herself, which I found to be excellent service. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. It was even better than the Indian restaurant we had dined at the night before in Armagh. Unfortunately, my daughter couldn't eat much due to a sore throat. Amy kindly offered for us to take the food with us, as well as gave my daughter a lolly to soothe her throat. We were heading to a light show and staying in a hotel, so we couldn't take the food with us. However, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant when I come back to Armagh.
My husband and I decided to dine at this restaurant after reading the reviews. Upon entering, we saw two girls behind the desk. One of them was eating and food was falling out of her mouth as we asked for a table, which should have been a red flag. We were told to sit anywhere as the restaurant was empty, another warning sign. After receiving our menus, the girl immediately asked if we wanted poppadoms before we had a chance to look at the menu. We ordered starters and main courses. Unfortunately, the starters were disappointing. The tandoori chicken leg was not appetising and was cold in the middle, indicating it had been microwaved. The service was rushed, despite there being no other customers. The main course, however, was enjoyable. The server continuously sniffed throughout our meal, which was off-putting. When we went to pay the bill, the owner added £7.50 without explanation. We paid but realized we had been overcharged or they hadn't updated their menu. Despite the poor service, we left a tip.
I first discovered this restaurant through my fiancé, who is from Armagh. We have visited several times over the past few years. The interior of the restaurant may not be stunning, but that is part of its charm. Customers do not come here for the ambiance, but for the delicious Indian cuisine. We have dined at many Indian restaurants, but Armagh Indian Nights is by far the best I have ever experienced. The food is of unparalleled quality, with generous portions at competitive prices. My personal favorite dish is the Chicken Tikka Chilli masala. If you visit, you will not be disappointed.
Don't go by first impressions, it looks drab and run down, but the staff are really good and the food was excellent.
Called in this evening and couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. Fantastic food, great value and five star service. Midweek offer was astounding value and every dish ordered by our family of 4 was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!
