The food is delicious and I have been a regular customer ever since I moved to Texas. Whenever I dine in, I go by the name William because it is the English equivalent of my legal name Guillermo. The staff at this restaurant always provides excellent service.
Yesterday evening, I went to a restaurant to pick up a chicken strip meal with gravy for my coworker. When I walked in, I immediately noticed that the kitchen staff was very busy. As I got closer to the counter, the man in charge, who had a heavy accent, pointed at me and told me to hold on instead of greeting me as he should have. It seemed like he was having trouble managing the restaurant. Having worked in the food industry for years, I know the saying "sink or swim"- either you handle a rush smoothly and maintain quality, or you panic and lose customers. Unfortunately, the man with the heavy accent was rude and this wasn't the first time he had treated me poorly. The food I picked up for my coworker was also disappointing- the fries were cold and soggy, and the chicken strips were hard. To top it off, I lost my receipt. Overall, it was not a good experience.
I recently visited this Whataburger and had the worst experience. I have been a longtime customer of Whataburger and I am 55 years old, so that says a lot. The manager had 6-8 employees working, but I still had to ask to speak to the manager in order to get my food. None of the employees were wearing masks, hairnets, or gloves. I saw a female employee handling the tenders with her bare hands to fit them in the fryer basket. The employees were chatting and wasting time in the lobby while customers waited for their orders. The manager took my ticket to find my order, but never returned or offered an apology. This happened at 10 p.m. on September 2nd, with a short black woman wearing glasses as the manager on duty. I observed her leaving with a long line of customers still waiting, not assisting in managing the situation she created. She even cut me off while leaving the parking lot. I would recommend avoiding this Whataburger unless you enjoy waiting for a long time for food that may be contaminated or have hair in it.
Asked for a plain (no lettuce,tomatoes pickles)bacon blue cheese burger but they gave me a double cheeseburger. That?s not what I meant by plain. I feel violated. If I wanted a double cheeseburger I would of order that instead for way cheaper. And to makeit even worse they ask me for proof of receipt before they gave me the burger. Didn?t even bother to back inside to try toexplain to them what happen
Line was extremely long and always takes a very long time. I decided to go in and order...still took 25 mins. I set there and watched as one window person kept taking stuff for window leaving inside orders to wait on fries, onion rings, etc. It was hitand miss on inside orders, it was like the job wasn't designated to anyone just someone passing would get it together and takeit to dining area. When my order was ready as far as the burger, here came the window person, grabbed last fries so I had towait for more to be cooked. I'm not going back, that was my 3rd time as it's on my way to work, but they are the slowestWhataburger I have ever been too.
