Relax atmosphere, very nice homemade dishes. The vegetable tempura and the caramelised cod were delicious. Suprisingly affordable.
The food here was a little strange and not to our tastes. The duck with goats cheese was not enjoyable and under-cooked. We should have sent it back really. The tapas to start were OK.It is a young couple running this and they are obviously doing their best to create something a bit different. Maybe we just came on a bad night!
Just excellent, the meals, the wine, the staff, the atmosphere...If you are looking for something different, Le Rendez-Vous is the place to go. I would describe it as a place with high class combined with a touch of "home". A place for friends, couples, families, you will definitely find your time worth spending here. You (can) sit here!
After wandering past the tourist traps on the Place du Forum, we literally stumbled across Le Rendez-Vous and thought we'd give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and happy to provide explanations in English. We sat in the open air seating area, enjoying the fresh air on a hot August evening. When a little rain fell later in the evening, a clever electric awning quickly provided shelter. The wine list was relatively short but included some lovely rosé from Minuty. We opted for the 'dish of the day' which was a selection of marinaded meats and squid, expertly grilled and served with a pile of home made chips and some lovely homemade mayonnaise. It was all delicious. We used the fact that it was still raining as an excuse to have a pudding: between us we had the carpaccio of pineapple with vanilla icecream and the deconstructed lemon meringue pie. The carpaccio and icecream were delicious, but the star of the entire meal was the lemon meringue pie. The creamy lemon mixture was like a heavenly lemon curd, the meringue itself was light and crisp, whilst the base was a buttery, salty, crumbly confection of loveliness. Well worth trying.
