The Electric Bakery - Argyll Bute

I arrived at the cafe in the afternoon on a weekday in August at 3:20pm for afternoon tea. I was informed that the cafe was closed because the shop closes at 4pm. This is peak season - why is the cafe not staying open later to accommodate more customers?

We had a fantastic experience at a bakery in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. They offer a great variety of cakes, pastries, teas, and coffees for dining in or taking away, all at a reasonable price. During our visit in May 2023, my wife and I indulged in some delicious coffees and cakes to go. I particularly enjoyed the rhubarb-filled pie, which was shaped like a shell. It was so good that I ended up buying four more, enjoying two while there and taking the other two home. Their homemade baked goods are top quality, and I highly recommend stopping by.

Another great breakfast in this establishment. Should have had breakfast in the hotel we were staying in but that experience was dire. Electric Bakery breakfasts are all cooked fresh and we love visiting when on the island. Great value

Very tasty sausage roll and cookies (like shortbread but not as sweet). The lady who ran the B&B where I stayed referred to Electric Bakery as the place for Scots who like their sugar!
