Ocean7 - Area A (Baynes Sound)

We were a table of 5 for a birthday dinner. The nigiri was not edible and was sent back. Stale rice tasted like it was a week old. Nothing was done to accommodate us for that. No offer to replace it, no apology. A member of our party ended up not having anything to eat as a result. I told the server to take it off the bill which she did. Nothing else said about the nigiri until the end of the meal when the server noticed I hadn 't tipped her then she mentioned the nigiri was a work in progress. At these prices it needs to be the finished product before being on the menu. Note to Chef learn to produce Japanese food before you sell it for big 's. You won 't see us again we live in the comox valley or get a recommendation from us. I also submitted a similar review on trip advisor it never showed up ??????

Perfectly good food, great views. But overall we were left expecting more, nothing wrong with the food or service. We had the prawn appy, with several different mains for our group, all good. There are better, or equivalent food quality, places in the Comox Valley, for better value.

Well, the resort is stunningly beautiful and the ambiance is serene. The views are gorgeous. But . . we arrived at 7:15 and put our names in for a table for 2. 15 minutes or so, said the hostess. 40 minutes later we were seated. Ok, no big deal. But it then took 20 minutes for the waitress to show up and ask if we'd like a drink. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, then a salad and dinner. The dinner showed up at 9:20 . . 9:20. 2 hours after we arrived and and hour and 20 minutes after we were seated ! That's ridiculous. There were no paper towels in the mens room and (I was told) no toilet paper in the ladies room. Btw, the food was very good, just make sure you've got the whole evening to spend there. Note to manager, get your act together.

We stayed at the resort for a couple nights and had a breakfast and supper with them. The calamari was absolutely fantastic we ordered it twice while we were there. It was perfectly crunchy with a delicious tzatziki dip. We both a the steak with added prawns and scallops. It was very good. The French toast was also super yummy and the eggs Benedict the best of the weekend. The view from the patio was absolutely incredible and the service was fantastic. The food was about. 4-4.5/5 but everything else was perfect giving this restaurant the perfect score. We can't wait to come back!

My wife and I recently made a quick stop at Kingfisher for one night. We booked for dinner at Ocean 7, as it looked good online. We both felt our dinners were outstanding! We rarely use that term to describe our meals out, as we've been fortunate to have many world class experiences. To impress, it doesn't need to be fancy, just a great dining experience. We both felt this was the best meal we've had in a few years. Well done.
