Baker's Brew - Ararat

Delicious jelly slice, nice portion size (considerably big) and super cheap compared to other places. I was served by a quiet, somewhat abrupt woman which left me a little uncomfortable. A manager or someone of importance was talking down to other staff members - very unpleasant to hear!

I Bought a Chicken Pie - not sure if it was chicken and asparagus or cheese - shop girl was quite new ans was unsure - but either way it was a bit rich calling it a 'Chicken pie' at all - halfway through .. NO CHICKEN - and none in sight! - Just a gelatinous chicken flavored substance with some minute traces of something that could have been asparagus. - should have been called a Chicken Flavored Jelly Pie. I returned it and showed the poor girl serving that there was NO actual identifiable chicken in it and swapped it for a pastie - thinking they cant go wrong with that right? ... WRONG - there was raw pink mince/sausage meat in it! Gross - Also inedible - having run out of lunch break I had to cut my losses - the doughnut was fine but I ended up at KFC drive though - exactly what I had been trying to avoid by going to a local bakery in the first place. Unhappy customer!!! The irony is they have a sign at the counter espousing the benefits of supporting local businesses - which I fully support in theory - but when the food you are PAYING for is virtually inedible ... seriously Bakers Brew - nice staff but lift your pie game!!!

Baker's Brew seemed to have quite a large baking operation out the back. They offered a good mix of sweet and savoury baked items, with lots of bread. We had an apple scroll, a fruit bun and a vanilla slice, all were great.Unfortunately service let this place down. The first person serving me wasn't listening properly; the second person was not at all friendly. Our table was grimy, not properly cleaned.I'd happily buy baked goods here again, but if I wanted to sit down and eat lunch in a pleasant environment, I'd go elsewhere.

Great customer service today from young lady had some pies for lunch which were lovely meat a little tough in chunky beef one but flavour beautiful and took bread rolls home which were beautiful and fresh

The coffee is terrible!!!! The service is worse! The woman behind the counter was very rude and looked completely put out by our presence in her establishment. She rolled her eyes when I asked to have one of the decorated cookies with blue on it because my daughter happens to love the color blue. She was rushing around like there were 100 people waiting to be served even though we were the only ones there. This is some of the worst service I have ever received!!!!!
