Sid's Smokehouse - Aptos

I'm not too upset that Sids has closed down. I'm hoping for a much better experience at the new place, Church's Taproom, which already has its sign up. I'm excited to check it out in 2023. It would be great to have a new local spot to enjoy.

I am writing this review 15 minutes after getting my takeout order. The portion was small, the chicken was dry, and it was served on a stale bun. They even forgot to include the cole slaw, despite asking me if I wanted it. All this for $15. I won't be returning.

I really enjoyed the mushroom swiss burger at this restaurant! However, it has more of a local vibe. The BBQ wasn't as fresh as expected. They didn't offer any upselling or alternative options. When I asked for the mushroom swiss burger, the server didn't suggest any sides or extras, even though they were listed on the menu. The parking is tight, but that's due to the layout of the restaurant, not their fault.

This restaurant seemed like a good choice for BBQ, but it was really disappointing. Firstly, the waitress was more focused on the regulars and not attentive to us. My pulled pork sandwich lacked flavor and the meat was not shredded well, with big chunks that made it difficult to eat. It seems like this is just a spot for the locals.
