That's kinda the point of hibachi, especially for that price. He just kinda, cooked, like you would in your own kitchen. No onion volcanoes, flipped shrimp, extra fire, nothing. The sushi was average, smaller than most rolls, nothing great for the price. Having a mandatory 10% tip automatically added to your bill would have been fine, especially because you can always add more if the service was good. Adding 18% automatically is too much, especially when (other than the waitress) the service was bare minimum and the prices are already high. The lobster tails were also the smallest I've ever seen, so definitely not worth it. Overall, I kind of regret coming here, and I won't be coming again. Maybe it was just the time of year, but I kind of doubt it. For how much I paid, I don't want to take the risk of finding out. Also, if you pay on two different cards or card and cash, they do the mandatory tip twice, so about 30
Where to start… you go to a Java hi restaurant for the experience. 40 minutes after our reservations in an empty restaurant the chef finally came. We brought my 4 nieces and nephews and got them all excited for the show they would see. They got nothing. No special spin with the egg, no flipping and tricks with the spatula, and the volcano had 3 onions stacked and the oil was poured all over so everything was flaming and not just out of the spout of the volcano. The sushi that was ordered was missing eel on most of the pieces and the tabiko was mainly spilled on the side an not on top. The calamari was super rubbery and completely inedible. When passing out the food the chef dropped pieces of tue steak on table scooped it up and put it on someone’s plate. No show, no excitement, no experience!Subpar hibachi, horrible appetizers and sushi. The kids feel really bummed that they didn’t see anything that we had talked about. Will never be back!
This place went downhill. It's sad. The sushi was subpar at best. The softshell crab was half the size of my palm. Very disappointed birthday meal.Seven months after I made this review my partner and I revisited. Still subpar. No music, paint peeling from furniture, and the waitress openly admitted to hating her coworkers...
Lacking in cleanliness and the food was terrible. They tried to have good service but they seem very short handed. Understandably....but the food quality was awful.
12/6/21, I know times are tough but what happened to the size portions? I got 2 of the special rolls $15&$12) and it barely covered a small tray. The miso soup container continues to shrink in height too, use to be a full size styrofoam container. I remember this place would fill the tray container full when you order the special rolls. Talk about inflation and/or over priced for the little amount of food. For comparison, this small tray is the same size as a 6-8 piece tray from Festival/Woodman's $8-10). Very disappointing.
