The Bayleaf Cafe - APOLLO BAY

I had a similar experience to the previous TripAdvisor commentator. However, the waitress must have realized she made a mistake when she waited on two people who came into the Cafe after me. Even though my order was so to speak "second" in line, my food and coffee came out first :)Anyway, just minor things that can easily be fixed by focusing better on the job. Having noted this the staff themselves are very friendly.The food (bacon and eggs) and the coffee were nice and tasty. I think I would re-visit this small Cafe and taste some of the other things on the menu.

After walking into 3 other cafes and walking out after standing around and being ignored by staff we were hoping Bayleaf cafe would be better. We sat at a table near the counter for some time without any service I went and requested menus. We then proceeded to wait for another 30 min before our order was taken (we were about to give up and go to the bakery). Our food took another 30 min and ended up being average.

Chose this place to have breakfast on a wet and miserable morning because it looked so cosy and we were delighted with our choice! The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. We will certainly visit again.

Our first place to eat at in Apollo Bay, and it was a generally positive experience.We both ordered the spicy chorizo breakfast ... and while it was an interesting experience, it wasn't really a bullseye: I found the chorizo to be undercooked and a bit smelly while my partner didn't like the large volume of baked beans that it came with. Anyway, it was nice enough to try something different.The coffee was a miss - either they don't have their coffee beans right or they aren't familiar with the machine ... the result was a poor coffee experience. Maybe it was the barrista's day off...?Anyway, it seems to be a nice place with obliging staff ... perhaps we just had an unlucky experience.
