We ordered shrimp dumplings (my son's favorite), siao long bao (my daughter's), chicken feet (my husband's), beef balls (my other daughter's), vermicelli rice rolls (mine) - and they were all quite satisfying. My daughter has recently developed a fondness for spareribs dishes. She ordered the spareribs rice dish with superior sauce, and according to her, it was -- what else? -- superior. My husband is a fan of noodles and hot and sour soup. We decided to forego the soup this time and ordered noodles: wanton and beef wanton. They were extremely salty. Even my husband, who perenially complains about the undersalted dishes I cook, found the noodle soup to be too salty. He is a frequent patron of this restaurant because his office is nearby. He's complained several times about the saltiness of the noodle soup but they don't seem to be doing anything about it.Next time, we shall see how our other dimsum favorites pass muster: tausi spareribs, kuchay dumplings, and everyone's delight, radish cake (I read in the menu they cook it 'crispy' here -- yum). Of course, we will not forget about the hot and sour soup this time.
I love dimsum, always have. It's my first to taste xiao long bao at the Dimsum Place. It is quite satisfying and they serve it with black vinegar. The soup in the dimsum and the taste of black vinegar was pleasurable! Their taosi fish fillet is okay, but it is quite simple for the price of the dish. Nevertheless, it is satisfying and a good break from the usual fried food and fastfood variety. Looks like their vermicelli rice rolls is good too, though I haven't tried it yet. Might as well try a simple dessert. Their cold milk jelly is quite good...not too sweet, simple and smooth. I would love to try their other offerings next time.
What do I always order here? The pork buns, vermicelli rolls, hakaw, fish tausi rice topping. Avoid the chicken feet and pork spareribs rice topping because you can find better ones elsewhere. Still, since it opened, this is the best place to eat in the Santa Lucia/Il Centro mall complex.
My family has been a resident of Marcos Highway-Cainta area since early 1980s. We had our share of chinese restaurant from the area thru the years, and it is only until 2015 that The Dimsum Place opened at Il Centro St Lucia. The food were authentic ! Some delicacies even from HongKong we're present like the Pineapple Buns. And they are good. My personal favorite is the wanton Mami, which is good to share, the Fried Radish, their Signature Pork Chop and many more dumplings (,") the chicken feet is also very nice. So if you are looking for authentic chinese food aside from the regular fast food chains abode, this is the place to be. Although mind you the menu is limited, and a bit pricey. Parking is available, and after th meal you can even go around the mall. Oveerall it's a good eat.Worth going back to, we did LoL almost regularly 3-4 times a week.
Wide variety of dimsum dishes, rice toppings, desserts, and more. Conveniently located inside a shopping mall with a nice quiet ambiance. Their prices are very good and reasonable. If you are around Marikina/Cubao area, don't hesitate to drop by and try their dishes. You wont be disaapointed. Only reason I gave them 4 stars is because of the wait time. Seating time is fast, order taking is fast, but serving our food was a bit slower than expected. Otherwise if you don't mind the wait, the food experience is worth it.
