Especially the Pizza, we were not even informed on how long it would take to serve. However , the Pizza tasted good which made me forget how long it took to serve. Everything is good except serving time.
Happy Chef's Mango Grille... The only thing happy here is the chef's name. The ribeye steak is as tender as a rubber slipper. The pancake was a struggle to cut, it was harder than the plate. The baby back ribs came after we asked for the bill.
Bad-good-great-excellent location: excellent ambiance: great service: bad, it took almost an hour for grilled tuna to be served. the waitress should've informed us the waiting time. They didn't even bother to apologize food: excellent price: great restroom: n/a
Their interiors are lovely, service was also good from their guard to their servers. We ordered Baby Back Ribs for my husband, Seafood Marinara for me and Nachos. My husband enjoyed his ribs, while the pasta and nachos for me, I thought it could do better. Will we go back again? Probably but not in the near future when there are still a lot to explore in Antipolo.
'Not-So-Happy Chef's Mango Grille' should be the name of this restaurant basing it on our first visit. Initially, I was really impressed with the overall interior and vibe of the place. Ambiance is hip, cool and modern. Up to the fixtures and the littlest of details, the place was obviously touched by a professional designer. The service was also good enough, contrary to the bad reviews I saw from FB. However, my rant is for something else, particularly more important than service itself: FOOD. Liempo and java rice were okay, but the Rib-eye Steak, was not just overdone, but way past overdone-ness (imagine microwaving further an overcook steak) that eating it was a struggle. I would understand if they didn't specify in the menu "Prepared just the way you like it - medium rare, medium well or well done", and I specifically instructed 'medium-rare' not only once, but twice. The mashed potato also didn't help at all as it was too bland, like eating boiled potatoes. We also ordered Red Iced tea, which I was pretty sure tasted the same as a famous brand's litro-pack. The steak and ribs price in menu uploaded in zomato is also cheaper than in the restaurant. Not that I would mind, if only they have done justice to my dish. Overall, considering they just newly-opened, and the place and service are okay, I'd be willing to give them a 3.0. The manager also cancelled our iced tea off the bill as a consolation to the steak disaster which I appreciate. Hopefully, interior and service aside, they will focus more on food quality in the days to come as it will determine the success and failure of this new restaurant.
